’Tis (Almost) The Season, And DTBK Is The Place (For All Your Holiday Shopping)

Maybe you’ve planned to spread your gift shopping out over several, thoughtful lunch hours. Or maybe you’ll inevitably leave your gift shopping to the very last minute. Either way: Downtown Brooklyn isn’t here to judge. It’s here to provide plentiful options in every category, price range, and taste level. Five of our favorite gifting spots, below.

Diptyque, 51 Bergen Street: Iconic, minimalist scented candles, perfumes and body care for the luckiest (and most in-the-know) gift receivers. You cannot go wrong with one of their classic (ie. cult favorite) candles, like Roses or Figuier.

Woods Grove, 302 Court Street: You can confidently shop for everyone on your list here, from your grandmother to your nephew. Plus, it opens at 10 (an hour earlier than any other shop nearby) — ideal for last-minute, pre-travel gifting.

Modern Anthology, 123 Smith Street: For menswear labels that aren’t mainstream (and a well-curated selection by a former designer), this is the place to be.

Center For Fiction, 15 Lafayette Avenue: Universally loved, valued and consumed, books can be either personal or noncommittal — depending on the title you choose. There is a big emphasis on fiction here, obviously, but there is an immense, exciting inventory to discover.

Clare V, 315 Court Street: When you’re looking for a classic handbag with a personal twist, this is the spot. From small leather goods to substantial totes, everything in this French-girl chic line has potential to be a new favorite closet accessory.
