Where To Caffeinate On Your First Day Back In The Office

Welcome back! Here’s hoping that you sent 2018 off with a bang — and that you’re feeling hopeful, inspired and energized for 2019. Should you need an auxiliary boost of liquid fortitude, here are our three of our favorite coffee shops — all just a stone’s throw from The Wheeler.

Stumptown, 212b Pacific Street: Serving up drip coffee, espresso and pastries from Roberta’s Bakery, the first Brooklyn outpost of Stumptown is housed in a former, 1860s-era fire station. This, folks, is where you go to get a jolt of inspiration with your caffeine, surrounded as you are by lush potted plants, period-specific tile and original works of art.

Devoción, 276 Livingston Street: Come for the freshest beans in the business (ten days from crop to cup), stay for the big, bright, colorful space (with plenty of room to work) — and the guava croissants.

Espresso Me, 88 Atlantic Ave: A tiny cafe with a big offering (everything from matcha and avocado toast to espresso, gelato and juice), this is where you go when you need something a little more substantial to start your day.
